Today at the service station - Django - 12-02-2014 Ups, this morning at the service station I filled in 14.2 liter into the 13.7 liter tank of my CB. ![]() Somehow I had lost track of my gauge. I guess, I shouldn't had ride any longer. ...lucky man I was. RE: Today at the service station - the Ferret - 12-02-2014 Did you mean you put 13.7 liters into the 14.2 liter tank? That is cutting it pretty close. RE: Today at the service station - Django - 12-02-2014 No, as I wrote, 14.2 liter into the 13.7 liter tank. You may sqeeze some more drops in as nominal. So, I was really cutting close... The 2013 model has nominal a fuel capacity of 13.7 liter. This is up to the bottom of the filler plug. There is still some air above. However, if you try to fill up completely, at some point it would drain thru the venting tube. btdt RE: Today at the service station - the Ferret - 12-03-2014 Wow, then yea, I'd say you were cutting it very close. RE: Today at the service station - ClassicVW_imp - 12-03-2014 Or, the gas station is robbing everybody, either intentionally or not. Maybe the pump needs calibration. Today at the service station - Cormanus - 12-03-2014 Django, that's a curious thing. The 2010 User Manual gives the CB1100 a fuel capacity of 14.6 litres. The specs in Ferret's history post give 3.9 US gallons. I suspect that's 3.85 US gallons rounded up. That's also 14.6 litres. The European CB1100 user manual [url=http://www.hme-tc.be/TRG_LIB/NM2013/CB1100/DOCS/CB1100A_OM_ENG.pdf]here also claims 14.6 litres fuel capacity for the European 2013 model. I note you use the word 'nominal' in your post. Are you saying that the advertised 14.6 litre capacity is actually only 13.7 litres? Or are you saying the nominal capacity of 14.6 litres is really only 13.7 litres to the bottom of the filler neck? All that said, 14.2 litres is cutting it fine. How many kilometers had you travelled before you filled up? RE: Today at the service station - Django - 12-03-2014 Oh dear, I'm getting old. Somewhere I picked up this 13.7 liter number. But in fact it is 14.6 liter capacity, as Cormanus pointed out. I looked it up in my operators manual. I did 254 km with 14.2 liter. Well, the whole story reminds me on this Mathematican joke: If there are 2 persons in a room, and 3 come out, then 1 has to go in, to make it empty (0).
