Bear Mountain Run - Hedge_imp - 04-18-2015

So I got the pass from the wife and met up with CIP57 in Greenwich, CT north of the Merritt parkway, bordering NY State. He led a real nice ride on the back country roads of NY. I have been to Bear Mountain before but never on these roads. Nice windy curves and virtually zero pot holes. The Weather was close to 80 so the roads were filled with fellow motorcyclists. About an hour into the ride we decided to switch bikes. I jumped on his modified 2013 and he jumped on my modified 2014. We both had big smiles on our faces! Both bikes are very fast but the powerband is a little different. He has a really nice customized seat that he can tell you about if he hasnt already. The price is very reasonable.
We got to the top of the mountain and stopped on the famous hot dog vendor overlook. Thats right, you get a great hot dog with mustard and kraut for $2 to go along with the million dollar view. I snapped a shot of our bikes before we began our journey home.

The round trip was about 160 miles which helped get me now to 459 miles. Another 150 and I can do my first service! Clap

Don't look because later in this thread CIP will tell us what the zero to 100 time is on your bike ..um.. just for comparative purposes I'm sure.

No really, looks like it was a great day to ride on perfect roads, and who can resist a $2 dog and a million dollar view? I couldn't! so how did you like CIPs shield?

Its nice Mick - he cutomized that as well and he did a great job. And your right, on the way home we lined it up at a stop light with at least ΒΌ mile of open straight away in front of us so we let them loose! I couldn't let her all the way out because mine only has 400+ miles and still breaking in but he let it rip since he has over 9000 miles. I did give him a decent run for his money! Big Grin

Nice one, Hedge. Great way to spend the day.

That is a great pic John, and a great day for riding. John and I have had conversations the past month regarding his upgrades to his CB, as a result of this forum we hooked up for a nice ride yesterday. It was nice to see and ride another CB out in the wild and to share conversation and a few war stories.

Micky, John and I where on a straight coming over a bridge when the light in front of use turned red forcing almost a lockup with us going a tad over the speed limit. I know I had a smile on my face as I'm sure he did, i pointed at the light with acknowledgment from John. What better way to end a ride than going through the gears with a buddy, John's breaking in his new CB which BTW has spot on fueling & "might" have a few more ponies, he pulled me out of the hole by a 1/2 bike (to be continued) Smile

Great pic. It's great to see CB1100 riders getting together to ride. Smile
