Sunday Group Ride in Beemer Land - Django - 07-22-2015 Hi comrades, last Sunday we had one of our monthly group rides. This time our friend from Heilbronn organized the tour, so we, 8 Beemers and 1 Honda startet out from a meeting point at Heilbronn. The approx 360 km roundtrip led us thru Odenwald, Spessart and Hohenlohische, some hilly regions in Germany. [url=https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=z9I6LYEiNfxY.kQQvHPXpmzyI&usp=sharing]Here is the map of the roundtrip. Overall I did 573 km including the ride to and from meeting point. While the last days were rather hot and sunny, this Sunday we had most time some overcast, then little rain and one thunderstorm. However, we really enjoyed the trip, left some rubber on the road and had a nice lunch and dinner together. Here are some pictures: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And the last picture on my way home:
RE: Sunday Group Ride in Beemer Land - Rocky_imp - 07-23-2015 Nice pictures RE: Sunday Group Ride in Beemer Land - the Ferret - 07-23-2015 Interesting not an R1200R in the group..my favorite Beemer. Love the fog on the low spots on the ride home pic. When my wife and I toured over there we were not far from there. I remember stopping at a magnificient church in Dinkelsbuhl and I believe we stayed in Rothenburg ob der Tauber and saw a street play by the Night Watchman. I loved riding in Germany. RE: Sunday Group Ride in Beemer Land - drodg33 - 07-23-2015 Beautiful pictures. Not one RT either. RE: Sunday Group Ride in Beemer Land - Django - 07-23-2015 Ah well, that's not a representative group of BMW riders in Germany. You see by far more boxer ® models out on the roads than Ks. This group is a roundtable of K lovers, so don't expect to see many R here. Keep in mind, that I rode a K1100RS the last 20 years. Meanwhile some of us fell in love with other models, like me. Also the newer Ks don't really count, as they don't have this flying brick concept (laid engine) anymore. However we're still friends and do rides together on a regular base. ![]() Btw., the guy with the K1200S (blue/white) also owns a R1200R and loves it. But then he also owns 2 Kawasaki Z1000 and a Moto Guzzi 1000 Le Mans II. RE: Sunday Group Ride in Beemer Land - JustPassinThru_imp - 07-23-2015 It's not like yours stands out or anything... RE: Sunday Group Ride in Beemer Land - the Ferret - 07-23-2015 Just curious Django, do any of your Beemer buddies ask to ride your CB? Thanks and yes you don't really stand out at all........(your bike) RE: Sunday Group Ride in Beemer Land - Django - 07-23-2015 (07-23-2015, 02:21 AM)The ferret_imp Wrote: Just curious Django, do any of your Beemer buddies ask to ride your CB?No. But it's uncommon to switch bikes at all. Then, my buddies admire my bike, but wouldn't want to ride it themself. For most of them, it's either too less of a touring bike or too less of a sport bike and has to less power. Also most of them are concerned about the chain drive and prefer drive shaft. My best friend there, the one with the ol' K100RS4V (blue) is thinking about to buy a F800, 90 HP, much less weight as his K, or going completely crazy and show up with a Suzuki GSX-R 750. ![]() Anyway, bike doesn't matter, as long as you're able to keep up and we all have fun together.
