North Dakota - dailyrider_imp - 10-10-2015 I just did an impromptu ride to Grand Forks N.D. and back. 2000 miles. The ride out was nice, the ride back was miserable. Cold with a strong headwind all the way back to Dearborn. I had not been out there for 45 years. Visited one of my brothers and an old friend. RE: North Dakota - the Ferret - 10-10-2015 wow that is an impromptu ride..underline ride. RE: North Dakota - Pterodactyl_imp - 10-10-2015 2000 miles impromptu? Did you walk out the door with the classic, "Honey, I'm just going out for a pack of cigarettes"? Cheers (any photos?) RE: North Dakota - flynrider - 10-10-2015 While most of my impromptu rides are 200-300 miles, I can relate. My 2,000 mile trek through the Colorado Rockies this summer was entirely unplanned. If you've got the time and the bike, you just go! RE: North Dakota - dailyrider_imp - 10-10-2015 Yea this was unplanned. My brother Thomas was on his way there from his home in Maryland to work the beet harvest. He stopped by to spend the night and I decided on the spur of the moment to go. I spent three days there and then came back home. North Dakota - Cormanus - 10-12-2015 Did you break the trips up, dailyrider? Or go the ironbum both ways? Have not been here much lately. One overnight stop to N.D. Two overnighters on the way home. One at the Mississippi river. and one at a friends in Chicago. Currently planning a trip to my brother Mikes in Colorado with my brother Tom from Maryland and my brother Vince from Alabama. Mike just retired from Coors after 30 years and bought a biker bar called Jerry D's in Docono Co. From there we will ride to Sturgis. They have been going for years, it will be my first time there. Happy trails to you............. ps. should update my avatar. that bike was 20,000 miles ago. |
