I'm looking forward to that.

I'm longing for more pictures and descriptions of your trip, 'cause I'm planning a roundtrip in North England, Scottland and Wales starting at the end of July. It shall last 2 until 3 weeks. It depends a bit on the weather forecast, if it is too bad, I'll travel around in another part of Europe. Camping with a tent shall bring me through the nigths. If it's raining all the time, no easy job, as I found out in several previous motorbike travels mainly in Scandinavia despite from the fact, that a chain driven bike will give up under these circumstances, you can't oil the chain enough to prevent it from running dry, which doesn't feel right in endless riding.

I also look forward to pictures you post. The Significant Other and I plan to rail tour the Isles next (2018) year.

That looks like the ultimate setup. So does she drive the rig between stops while you ride, or do you haul the bike on the rig and ride around at the destination? What's the tow vehicle look like? Inquiring minds want to know.

John, I'm going to be in the highlands first week of September. Plan is to make it to John O'Groats and backtrack to Edinburgh and then fly over to Ireland for a week. Love Scotland and the highlands. Been there at least a dozen times. Keep those pics coming!!!

RE: Scottish Tour - Cormanus - 07-10-2017

Scotland is the go to place this year apparently. I'll be there in August.

RE: Scottish Tour - WK57ABF_imp - 07-10-2017

I will try and answer a few questions.

Wisedrum - At the end of July we will be at the Caravan Club Site at Killin Stirling for three weeks - if you are in the area we could meet up.

tinboatcat - we wanted to tour the Outer Isles but the ferry company wanted commercial rates for our outfit - very expensive.

Stichill - we have all the campgrounds booked. Usually a 2-3 week stay, explore the area by bike, then move to the next campsite. Picture should show our tow vehicle.

Frulk - first week in September we are at Kinlochewe in the Highland region. The other side of the country from the A9 where you'll be travelling back to Edinburgh.

Cormanus - we'll be camped at Glencoe during August - call in for a beer if you're passing.

Arriving at Killin Stirlingshire on Sunday and the village from our campground.
A cruise around Loch Tay this afternoon.
Taking a smoke break by a wall at the head of Loch Tay.
