in Germany we have that nice tradition.

The bikers meet at churches for season opening.
Today in Bremerhaven with about 500 Bikers.
In Hamburg usually 30000 Bikers each year!

After church we run a big motorcycle corso through the town
accompanied by the lord an the policeThumbs Up





Do you have that in the states? Do you participate?

Not that I am aware of but we do have many faith based motorcycle groups. I am a member of "Faith Riders". We had our monthly meeting at our sponsoring church today.

I like the tradition in your country of an annual start of the riding season held at church.

I am aware of Blessing of the Motorcycles in my area. The linked newspaper article show one that was performed during 2014 at a Roman Catholic parish not far from me. It is cool that the priest went on a group ride on his Victory motorcycle after the ceremony.

I may now attend one now I have my CB1100. I was reluctant to attend one before in fear the priest would single me and my old Honda CB77 out and perform the Sacrament “Anointing of the Sick” (last rites).

Here we had a blessing of the bikes in Mirboo North on the weekend prior to the race on Phillip Island, it now takes place at San Remo the small township just prior to the bridge to PI. Marcel and Sabine a nice couple at the Inline Cafe in Mirboo North got the tradition started here a few years ago. The blessing is conducted in the open by clergy from several churches.
