First ride of 2022 - Jonnyteabag_imp - 04-14-2022

Well it's a bit late, but Head of Accounts and I finally got our first small ride out today on Nelly. Just a small trip of 125 miles, but the first one since I fitted the small top case from my Crossrunner, and judging from the comments from the rear gunner it's a winner!! The backrest pad seems to just be in the right place for her back and the case is not too large that she tries to boot it off the bike every time she gets on board.

We went to a local biking hotspot about 40 minutes from home (Devil's Bridge at Kirkby Lonsdale) and had a delicious bacon butty and sausage and egg butty (been a while since we last stopped there) drowned with a mug of tea. The simple life for us!

We ended up at another lovely town in Cumbria called Kirkby Stephen where we took in the sights and sounds from a bench alongside the town's war memorial then it was a ride down the road to Kendal, home of the famous Mint Cake, and then onwards to home.

Temps were around 13c and very pleasant in the sunshine. We were just lucky to be able to have a nice day before the usual mad rush of the heavy Easter traffic which starts on Friday and finishes Sunday/Monday. This is usually signalled to us by the sound of the air ambulance which flies over our house towards the beautiful local motorcycling roads that surround where we live. One reason we never venture out on public holidays!

Nice, and cute couple. You look happy.

I take it a delicious bacon butty and sausage and egg butty are a couple of breakfast sandwiches of some kind (not familiar with the term butty)

I do understand Tea though Mmmmmmmm
