Testing testing, 1, 2 3 - the Ferret - 05-26-2022 I've aways worn a rainsuit over my Tourmaster riding gear even though it is "supposedly" waterproof. It has kept me dry in a light rain but I've never tested it in a real toad strangler. Today it was thunder storming with very heavy rain so I decided to give it a real test. So I threw on a pair of light grey sweats top and bottom (they turn dark grey when wet), and my riding gear, and waited until it was really coming down before taking off. After 30 miles, everything had failed but my over mitts lol. Was wet around the top of my neck and shoulders, stomach, and both sides of my legs, plus my socks. Surprisingly my crotch and butt were dry. Guess I still need to carry my rainsuit on trips .
RE: Testing testing, 1, 2 3 - peterbaron - 05-26-2022 That's not good. Went through "flood" a couple of times while wearing a 4 pice rain gear (gloves, jacket, pants and boot covers) = always dry. On one occasion my helmet padding was slightly wet. RE: Testing testing, 1, 2 3 - PowerDubs_imp - 05-26-2022 I've never once considered purposely riding in rain. We might need an intervention. RE: Testing testing, 1, 2 3 - the Ferret - 05-26-2022 ![]() Rain riding isnt so bad. RE: Testing testing, 1, 2 3 - GoldOxide_imp - 05-26-2022 Rain riding can be very therapeutic if one does not mind getting some road grime on their garage queen. I've taken ol' two strokes through some steep puddles and thought for sure I wouldn't make it through. Surprisingly, it was exciting and healing. The carbs almost didn't agree though. Testing testing, 1, 2 3 - PowerDubs_imp - 05-26-2022 On dirt bikes as a kid I would ride through anything. Then I went in the army. Learned to hate rain real quick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Testing testing, 1, 2 3 - the Ferret - 05-26-2022 Riding in rain teaches valuable street riding lessons, like throttle and brake control and modulation, line choice, lean angles, safe following distance etc which come in handy for every day riding in the dry.
