I've searched a few different ways and can't find any threads already.
I was wondering if anyone has put a set of aftermarket rear sets on? Would this make any difference in comfort for a taller rider?

i don't believe that anyone has done that here yet. there are a bunch of rear sets on webike and samurider.com

Gentlemen,
I'm pretty sure it would make a difference in comfort for a taller rider. The bike would be less comfortable. The CB11 already has fairly rear set foot pegs for a standard MC. More rear set than vintage CB750's. If you do rear sets your knees will be bent more, you will most likely want to combine rear sets with a lower handlebar, you'll carry more weight on your feet and wrists and less on your butt.
The best way to check out how well you might like it is to sit on some sport bikes for 15 min or so. Cheers.

I was kind of hoping you'd chime in on this CB. I'm planning to do the CB500F bar/mirror swap you did to hopefully help a bit on windy highway rides since as it is now on my stock bike i lean forward when I get up to speed to try to fight the buffeting of the wind. I thought maybe a combo of the lower bars and rear sets might help some. Also, as you pointed out, there'd be less weight on my butt which gets numb/sore pretty quick on the stock seat.
My first bike was a '77 CB750 and I don't remember my knees being as bent as they are on the 1100.

The standard Moto Guzzi V7 is a bit cramped with the standard pegs but the V7 Racer with rear sets is actually roomier. Very counter intuitive. Not saying the same will be true with our CB1100, but I would like to try them out before saying one way or the other. I've got a 36" inseam so you can some bikes cause me some problems in the room department.

Interesting. Hadn't heard of this so I did some digging. Think it may just be what I'm looking for since I spent an hour yesterday peering at my pegs trying to figure out a good way to drop them an inch.
One question though, do you adjust the brake and shift levers any when using the Buells? My shifter feels a little higher than I like already and dropping the peg would only make it worse.

I'm 6'5" with a 36" inseam as well. I tried sitting on my 1100 last night in the drive and putting my feet on the pillion pegs and angled down a bit imagining pedals and it felt a little better to me. I don't think any of the rear sets go back quite that far though. If the kits weren't $600+ I'd try one and see how much difference it makes. But I can't afford that much for a "we'll see."

fuzz, i also have the buell pegs. Did you have to grind them down at all? I definitely need to otherwise they don't fit...

Yea, just take a little off each side where they go into female mount. You'll never see it.

thats what I was hoping you would say. I really wanted them to work. I will do this tonite. What did you use? a grind wheel?
