luggage - HonDon_imp - 11-16-2013 We're considering buying a CB 11, but I'd like hard bags. I notice the factory mounts, but there's not a lot of info about luggage. Also want windshield and back rest, and want everything detachable. Of course, I love the classic looks. I'm just thinking about the occasional weekender with my wife. Any help? RE: luggage - Randy B - 11-16-2013 All that's around as far as a backrest goes for these bikes would be a top box. With the factory luggage rack the top box has an optional back rest, but it's only available in Japan for some reason even though we can get the rack...stupid, I know. Even though the aftermarket top boxes don't have a dedicated backrest built in, I'm sure they can be used as such without issue. There are a couple of companies making hard cases for the bike, but again they are made overseas and have to be ordered in and the side cases will require the relocation of the rear turn signals. The options are out there and a couple of postings have been made here. Have a look around and you just might find what you're looking for.
RE: luggage - dennylee11_imp - 11-17-2013 Hit the search button and type in Hepco Becker bags and you'll find a discussion I started when I mounted my hard bags... RE: luggage - ingobohn_imp - 11-17-2013 In Germany and Austria, you sometimes get a factory top case fitting onto the Honda rack, which looks nearly the same like the top case for the Honda Crossrunner (I don't know if the CR is sold in the U.S.): [url=http://www.tempo-zweirad.de/html/honda_cb_1100.php]Here (open the "optionales Zubehör" section) and [url=http://www.honda-grell.at/2013/cb1100_start.JPG]here for example. Maybe this is also available in the USA? RE: luggage - Gingersdaddy_imp - 11-17-2013 Funny, I just posted a thread on the Shad 37 Top Case I mounted. I ordered the backrest with it and let my wife sit on the bike and held the backrest in place, but my wife said it was too high up and did not want the backrest on it. I moved the backrest down low near the seat, but she said she didn't like that either. I was glad I had not already installed it. RE: luggage - the Ferret - 11-17-2013 If her jacket has back armor in it she wont need the pad. If not she won't be able to comfortably lean back. RE: luggage - LiveToRide_imp - 11-17-2013 Corbin has a nice. Pricey backrest but you need one of their seats too Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk |
