Engine Hanger & Mirrors - CB4ME_imp - 05-04-2014

Had a chance to test ride my 2 new farkles today. The first, a TSR engine hanger, replaces the $29 OEM hanger with a $140 part. It looks nice but lacks the stock hanger’s mounting bracket, That bracket holds the fuel tank’s evaporation canister, a US only emissions control device that lurks behind the engine hanger. I found an alternate means of securing the canister but I was sorely tempted to remove it completely.

The second farkle is a pair of Magical Racing mirrors. Insanely expensive, their purchase is a sure sign I need farkles anonymous therapy.

Cool…you sure you need that rear rack on there? Takes away from the sporty look

That bike is magical. The rack included, I think. You've created a full package experience. I can imagine you getting stuff done and looking badass while doing so... or maybe a picnic date in that beautiful countryside.

I absolutely agree.

The rack is needed to mount the sissybar which is needed by the wife when she rides.

She's having surgery Monday and will be grounded for 5-6 weeks so I plan to take it off until she gets back on her feet.

Dang, no wife on board, no hopes of breaking into the 40mpg range with just me riding. Too much fun with a freer breathing engine.Big Grin

Sweet mirrors CB, how are they in regards to vibration at speed?

I think the mirrors are there for looks and legal requirements. I don't think he's type to actually use them. Angel

LOL - Vibration. They provide a clear steady view cruising at 75 mph. A very slight buzz is noticable above 5000 rpm but they still give a usable view above 7500 rpm - on the few peeks I dared to take shifting up through 2nd and 3rd.

The mirrors have a blue tinge (anti-reflection and UV block) and are very slightly convex.

I wouldn't recommend them to anyone based on the super high price and I'd probably lie if someone asked what they cost.

Ryujin uses them on their incredible CB1100 conversions and I had a bad bout of farkle-fulenza when a member posted 80 pictures of Ryujin bikes.
