My manual feels "throbby" and underpowered but only in 6th gear at less than 65 mph. 5th is top gear for me in most circumstances. On my recent trip to Florida I did a 40 mile ride on I-75 to bypass Ocala; 85 to 90 mph was about average to stay up with traffic with one burst to 95 mph to pass a line of trucks. 6th gear worked great at these higher speeds and bike felt very smooth. Riding through Lakeland I met with some heavy traffic and multiple traffic lights that made me wish I had the DCT. Everything's a trade-off. The OEM screen holds firmly together at 104 mph.

RE: NC750XD: Initial review ... - the Ferret - 12-29-2021 I did get up to 72 the other day on the freeway (only 7 over so I was safe from the OHP) . I did a lot of staring at those wellnuts lol

RE: NC750XD: Initial review ... - the Ferret - 12-29-2021 Apparently by NC 700 forum lore it squeezes them out the front. A fellow made and was selling some metal brackets with nuts welded to them to prevent that which were popular with guys that bought big touring shields. He no longer makes them and never made them for the 2021s. See post # 35 https://www.nc700-forum.com/threads/new-givi-screen.19956/page-2 here's the brackets https://www.nc700-forum.com/threads/sold-dales-nut-plates.20126/ If it wasn't an issue, I doubt Givi would have had a sticker made up advising as such. RE: NC750XD: Initial review ... - redbirds_imp - 12-30-2021 My screen is a tall Puig and did not have a warning about speed limitations. I'll look into this however and see if the "Florida trek test" caused any damage. RE: NC750XD: Initial review ... - jimgl3_imp - 12-30-2021 I just got a Givi screen for Christmas for my NC and I love it. I don't go fast enough to worry about any speed problems. So much so, that I wondered if the author read it before writing his impressions. LOL |
