When it was all said and done I lost about $10,000 on it. Lesson learned. Speaking for myself I ride it as it came from the factory, OK I'll spring for a seat but that's about it.That is a good pun. RE: Any interest in cams? - SimiPair_imp - 11-25-2016 I'm interested, too. The stock cam for a '82 CB1100F was good for 108 hp. Might be a good idea to use that timing on a regrind. RE: Any interest in cams? - SimiPair_imp - 12-06-2016 Just talked to Faith at Web Cams. She's very tech savvy. They have worked up some preliminary grinds for our bikes. If we can give them TDC and spring parameters they can provide a street grind for more performance. Price is $855. RE: Any interest in cams? - HBFL_imp - 12-06-2016 I'll take my cams well done, if you please.... No sides necessary, do not sneeze, Just that, only that, And my face will happily smile with gleeze. Seriously, for real, this is no tease, So everyone be so kind, And set your mind, To ease. Funny, Faith is whom I was corresponding with...and I sent her my cams, and haven't heard back from her for a month!! $855 is insane, and even I won't pay anywhere near that! I've had custom cams made before, several times, complete new cams, not regrinds, and no, I won't pay $855. Especially not with ME buying the stock cams and paying to ship them to web for them to use for data on my dollar.
RE: Any interest in cams? - Rebel73_imp - 12-06-2016 Watching this thread with interest... RE: Any interest in cams? - Ben70_imp - 12-06-2016 I am really curious about the whole "closing the exhaust valve 10 degrees later" thing... levitating with anticipation for some enlightenment
RE: Any interest in cams? - HBFL_imp - 12-06-2016 10 degrees of separation or is it 6? At any rate, that alone, is what makes these bikes so special! Can't ya just feel it? I'll bet its way better with new CAMS! RE: Any interest in cams? - Randy B - 12-07-2016 I have a contact that works for a cam company and I put out a feeler to see if they are able or willing to do anything for us. Keep us posted. I believe the quoted price is high because to put the intake timing in phase requires more lobe work. By the way, the timing for the 1982 CB1100F is INT: 15(BTDC), 35(ABDC), and EX: 40(BBDC), 10(ATDC). |
