Thanks for the reassurance. Makes me wonder though did they or did they not reproduce the sound. I am going to say they did. Will be interesting since there are two bikes in different states both having the same issue taken in the same day. Wonder if that sent mother Honda for a loop...

Never hurts to swing by the shop and talk to the service manager, just to make sure they were able to reproduce the sound and hear it. Don't call, physically stop in and see him eye to eye, so you can also gauge his reaction.

Yes so my dealership called me today. They said they had a technician warm up the bike,. then take it for a 3 mile ride and when they came back they claim that he didn't hear anything. They could not replicate the sound. The same sound I was able to replicate two times in a row, different days, before deciding to not try it again.

With work and then the winter rise up again today into tomorrow I said I would try to get over on Saturday morning to pick up the bike. I plan on letting it warm up then take a ride around their building and then listen for the noise. If the noise is there I am going in and getting someone by the ear to pull them out to ask if they hear that it or not. IF they don't I will try someone else. If the noise is not there I will ride it home.

They did say that it is pretty well documented in their system for my bike so that if something were to happen it would be covered. I didn't fake those videos and the odd sound is there. They can't deny that. But unfortunately unless someone there hears it they apparently will be good in saying it is okay.

Interesting. Well, lets hope it was an anomaly never to be heard again.

It's bizarre that the noise is gone. The difference from your first video clip to the second is dramatic. The second one sounded like someone was operating a hammer-drill in the background.

This is sheer conjecture, but is it possible something in the oil blocked a passage temporarily causing the noise, and it's now open again? Or, was there a difference in where or how the bike was parked between videos, and something was resonating in the second and not the first?

At least you don't have too much to worry about. As you said, it's documented, if it blows up you're golden. Hell, maybe you should go ahead and torture-test the thing for us and find out how many miles it'll do at WOT in first gear!

The location between the first video and the second must have been only off by maybe a foot, 12 inches, as I parked it in the same place I let it warm up. Took it around the block one time the second time I fired it up and did the video. The first time I noticed it I rode it about 15 blocks and it was there.

Who knows, maybe the rode it the three miles in first gear WOT!

I do know I will be starting it and riding it around their building when I pick it up and like I said if the noise is present they are keeping it to fix it.

Funny, no I didn't tell the bike that. I did tell the bike though it would be getting some accessories this year and some good road time!!!

I figured that this was going to be the outcome. If there was an adjustment problem from the dealer when you brought it in for service you would have heard it as soon as you started the bike on initial warm up. If there was something out of adjustment it would not be intermittent. I had the same problem and its in one of my threads.

When i did my first oil change i heard the same lower end noise. If it continues when you get it back i strongly suggest that you change the oil & filter with Honda 10-30 full syn.
