My bad, I've dragged on lowered pegs only (so far). I should have more clear on that little point.

I took off the factory curb feelers and use my toes as feelers too. Back in the old days before pegs folded up, it paid to have something to give you a notion as to how close you were to digging in a solid peg and lifting the back wheel off the ground. Toes worked for me then and still work for me now.
