RE: What kind of oil is everybody running - Aussieflyer - 06-13-2018 Chaz34, don't over think it, 10W30 and 10W40 are both just great in our CBs. The manual suggests that 10W30 is what you need when it's cold 20F to 50F and 10W40 for when it's warmer. I've used 10W30 when it's 100F and 10W40 when it's 50F - bike still works OK. RE: What kind of oil is everybody running - peterbaron - 06-13-2018 In Ontario, where I live and very often ride long distances, I always use Motul synthetic 10W40 + OEM filter = ![]() This is my choice. pb RE: What kind of oil is everybody running - jimgl3_imp - 06-14-2018 you know what? we don't realize how lucky we are with only one hole to fill. just go buy yourself a harley and all of a sudden you've got 3 holes to argue about what to put in them! argh! Not Utah. And not Kansas City any more. Just York, PA. And India.

Was checking to see what my Walmart next door (literally) has in stock, and apparently Mobil 1 makes motorcycle-specific oil ... costs more though, at $9-something a quart. And then there's Amazon with free shipping on this 4-quart jug of Pro Honda. Hello Fellow Texan!! I'm currently running the Mobile 1 Racing 4T (AutoZone has it too). The bike FEELS smoother and shifts better. I did have my first oil temp alert pulling into my garage yesterday which made me a little nervous... J RE: What kind of oil is everybody running - Lord Popgun - 07-16-2018 Are you sure it is the oil temp light? Oil would have to be 266F. If it did come on I think you are the first to report it happening. Did the check engine (MIL) come on? RE: What kind of oil is everybody running - peterbaron - 07-16-2018 ![]() Needed a break while studying electrical diagrams for signal.... RE: What kind of oil is everybody running - use2b_imp - 07-16-2018 late chiming in but made my decision and " HOPE " i can pass on the best deal I found. my CB 1100's oil looked clean at 2200 miles when i got my bike but i changed it to Honda's semi synthetic and also the next change . now at 7000 miles i will do the 4th oil change and go to 10/40 Mobil 1 synthetic motorcycle oil . will also go synthetic the 1st oil change for my Valkyrie which is at 4000 miles so i ordered 9 qts for $89.73 from Walmart which was the best price i could find and 2 day free shipping. will stay with Honda filters |
