I tried to explain to him that Italy and Japan were on the same side during the war, but he had a particular hatred for the Japanese. I guess due to Pearl Harbor. Funny thing is just 10 years later he was riding Japanese bikes..first a 72 Yamaha R5c 350, then a 73 Honda CB 350/4, then a CB 200 and a CB 175 as he got older, and my moms last bike was a small Yamaha step thru as well. He still had a 41 Harley in the garage, but it was too big and heavy for him at the end of his riding career.My brother ended up with it and sold it before they became collectible and expensive lol.
