1996 Honda CD125 Benly. It was a 4 gear rotary transmission, loved going from 4th to neutral and gliding to stop lights. Had a 125cc version engine of the old Twinstar motor. When the engine went down i took the opportunity to slam a 250cc honda rebel engine in. I had a 1978 CD90 and a 1982 CD50, but the 125 was the gem. I have 2 CD175 basket cases (the only CD to be imported to the USA i believe, one year only, 1968) in my shed to relive my glory days once I get around to rebuilding them.

First bike I ever rode was my cousin's Honda 50 while on vacation to WV in the summertime. I was too young to even know what it was- were they called XR back then?
Although certainly a tiny toy if I stood over it today- boy I can still remember the smell and sound of 'motorcycle'. Twisting the throttle and hearing the little engine, the excitement as all of us kids stood in a big field and waited our turn. Fireflies all around us. That's all it took for a life long obsession with engines and mechanical.
My first bike was a 1978 Yamaha GT80- silver and blue just like this-

I still have the speedo off of it sitting in my garage, as well as the speedo from my first car.

Hmm....somehow I missed this thread.
Mine was a 1975 CB500T. It ran mostly on one cylinder and the other would pop from time to time. It had an intermittent charging issue that ALMOST left me stranded a time or two, but I just kept kicking it till it restarted and I made it home.

That is how my Yamaha RD400 started, mostly on one cylinder before it was rebuilt. Found a Suzuki piston. After that, it was normal operation, except for a gear shifter seal that blew a week after the rebuild and oil spewing at a red light intersection. I got up to speed and coasted the remaining distance home.
