RE: CB1100 Monthly Photo Challenge - the Ferret - 12-03-2017 I spotted 2 on this mornings ride that will make for good pics I think. Will try and get back out tomorrow on the CB and snap them. It was 27 degrees this morning and I was on the ST. RE: CB1100 Monthly Photo Challenge - RockHop_imp - 12-03-2017 Went looking for some historic churches today. This Lutheran church was in Posey TX, just South of Lubbock. Dates back to 1920 and still active. ![]() ![]() ![]() This Episcopal church dates back to 1913 and is the oldest surviving church in Lubbock. It was relocated to the Lubbock Arboretum and has been restored, except for the interior which was gutted when it was used for rental housing and later abandoned. Used primarily for weddings with the adjacent gardens. When I was there today, a couple was being photographed. No vehicle access, so the closeups were sans CB1100. ![]() ![]()

Nice choices MTC, I especially like the stone churches. Very medieval RE: CB1100 Monthly Photo Challenge - the Ferret - 12-03-2017 Nice pics guys! Love the stone churches RE: CB1100 Monthly Photo Challenge - Ben70_imp - 12-03-2017 I feel safe in speculating that this may be the only motorcycle forum to feature "your bike with a church" month. Ever. Unique! That's what we are. Users will then post photos meeting the requirement in this thread for our ogling pleasure. The first user to submit a qualifying photo chooses the backdrop for the following month's challenge. I thought this might be a good time to restate the challenge and rules so folks don't have to keep going back to page #1. This has proven to be a fun thread. I hope it continues into 2018. RE: CB1100 Monthly Photo Challenge - RockHop_imp - 12-04-2017 Had to show this one simply because its so cute. ![]() Fortunately, there was a women in the Highland Baptist church office that knew the history. Back in 1974, a church member wanted a prayer room that would be available 24/7. The church allowed him to build (and pay for) this tiny chapel in their parking lot. Unfortunately, demographics have changed in the area and it is no longer kept open. RE: CB1100 Monthly Photo Challenge - emptysea - 12-04-2017 There's a little chapel in Indiana that looks just like this. It's called "Wayside Chapel" and it's on US52 near Lafayette. |
