Some other forums require this- either bikes or cars- and it is helpful in discussion- as is location. 2017 Gas Tank on a 2013? - chandler_imp - 06-30-2017 (06-29-2017, 07:06 AM)PowerDubs_imp Wrote: No, I literally meant a spot where you had to type in your year & model of bike and it showed in the left area under the avatar. I put mine in my signature. Doesn't that accomplish the same thing? 2013 Honda CB1100 RE: 2017 Gas Tank on a 2013? - peterbaron - 07-04-2017 [quote='peterbaron' pid='176876' dateline='1499168181'] [quote='peterbaron' pid='176239' dateline='1498648174'] [quote='noroomtomove' pid='176235' dateline='1498646318'] 28th of June 2017 G'day Peter, i'm interested to hear how far you get on a tank. I have ridden the tank to empty three times, twice as part of a plan close to home and carrying some extra fuel. The furthest is 314.5 km this was not an endurance attempt. Fortunately for me a FarRider came to my aid and I got to rendezvous with the rally Down Under later that afternoon carrying the recently purchased fuel can. My bike was built in 2011. Regards <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Hi there, results will be coming soon... we presently have rain every other day, so I do not ride for pleasure. Mid test, up to 100 km/h - slow roads = after 250 km, 2 solid gas gauge bars and 3rd flickers from time to time. This Sunday, weather looks promising, and I should be able to make 600+ km. Accuracy will be up to 90%..'cuz do not remember exact amount of gas pumped into gas tank = pumped 2x at the same time/pump Cheers Peter ------------------- '13 CB, 42.5 K <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Hi, TEST CONDITIONS:: 13' CB1100ABS- 5 speed, 43K, 17 L gas tank as per Takashi/Samurider, use 10W40 full synthetic oil, ambient +25-30*C, engine start temp +20*C, several, natural start ups and stops, tires:: Pilot RD 3 - F= 120/70/18, R = 160/60/18 & spec pressure, NO ECM/engine modifications = stock, roads:: 70% back roads and up to 100km/hr & 30% hwy with higher speed, operating RPM in 5th gear 3000 - 4500 accordingly, gas used:: 91 & 94 octane, refuelling:: on side stand. Have a windshield . TEST # 1:: Filled gas tank ( no topping), rode certain distance , 2 bars on gauge dropped to 1 fuel bar + rode another 20 km (last bar still not flushing) = 320 km distance ridden and 14.2 L refueling with moderate topping. TEST #2:: Rode 395.3 km, last fuel bar flushing for 15 km ( but before gassing, bar momentarily became solid ??), I am more than certain, I would pass magic 400 km !!!!!!! ![]() https://s4.postimg.org/glzbqngx9/Tank_0.jpg Refueling with deliberate/several times topping and tank took 16.5 L = WOW! ... now started testing the 3rd time. During this, 16.5 L refueling, there was no gas leak from overflow/breather tube from under my bike, so I think there still was 0.5 L of old fuel = total now in tank = 17.0 L ![]() https://s22.postimg.org/6bkx313e9/Tank_1.jpg https://s13.postimg.org/3xlwaaplz/TANK_2.jpg https://s18.postimg.org/vl9521ywp/TANK_3.jpg NOTES/PRESUMPTIONS:: If a rider has throttle discipline (I don't) up to 3300rpm in the 5th gear, rides nonstop a the hwy, I believe that 400-450 km distance is realistic....and this might be test # 4 ![]() ![]() ![]() Cheers, Peter RE: 2017 Gas Tank on a 2013? - pekingduck - 10-13-2017 A 2017 gas tank showed up on eBay a couple days ago for $300. That seems like a pretty good deal. Item 122751719701. Unfortunately I just bought a black tank for my 2013. RE: 2017 Gas Tank on a 2013? - swifty_imp - 11-24-2017 So I've been reading this and no one has said the 2017 tank will work on the 2013 (unless I missed a post) I also see that the gas cap looks different so the one off the old tank will not work.. The Japanese tank if I remember makes the bike look like an original 750 four. Anybody have an answer as I do a lot of long distance riding and my range is 120 miles on the tank and thank God for the Corbin set.. RE: 2017 Gas Tank on a 2013? - Cormanus - 11-24-2017 swifty, check out [url=http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=11505]this thread of chync's. He's put a 2017 tank on a 2014 and I assume it's a standard, which suggests to me that it will fit on a 2013. use2be might be able able to tell you the capacity of the Whitehouse tankāthat's the one that looks like the original CB750 tank. peterbaron has also put on a larger tank. There's discussion about it somewhere in [url=http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=10544]this thread. You'll also be interested in the opening posts, I suspect. RE: 2017 Gas Tank on a 2013? - use2b_imp - 11-24-2017 Whitehouse tank is 4.7 Gal RE: 2017 Gas Tank on a 2013? - jedd_imp - 11-26-2017 I aint gonna lie.... i want a 2017 gas tank real bad too... just so I can paint it -exactly LIKE THIS~! ![]() That gold color really shows off the curves around the knee area. RE: 2017 Gas Tank on a 2013? - noroomtomove - 02-01-2018 Information now in another thread. RE: 2017 Gas Tank on a 2013? - Guth_imp - 02-02-2018 jedd, to my eye the gold one is by far the best iteration of the CB1100 RS. |
