Well the FJR got it's first bath today. Twice lol. Weather forecast said it was going to start raining at 8 AM so I was on the road at 6:30 A.M. for an hour ride. 30 mins into the ride .... yep started raining. By 9:00 AM the sun was shining and at 2:00 PM I headed down to the Yamaha shop to order a trunk and tank bag. The skies started getting dark as a I got to the shop. The parts manager I was working with on the accessories was out to lunch so I skedaddled for home. Didn't make it. The skies opened up and it really came down this time. Uggg, well the bike was clean for 6 whole days. That might actually be a record for me lol.

Nice new bike in a great color. The new bike thing is fun. With your new bike, your CB1100 may find itself sitting a bunch. With me, I just got my CB1100 so my Harley and my Ducati are the ones sitting more as I gravitate to the new EX. Just something about the new bike needing to be ridden.....

Not many shots on this laptop, but oddly enough it does not look all that big on the CB.

Congratulations ferret!! These are great bikes. I will pick up a lightly used 2016 model within the next few years. I test rode the fjr last summer and i just felt spoiled on it lol.

I have a goal of putting 100k miles on my cb before getting the fjr. In my opinion thr fjr is the best deal in a touring motorcycle. You can still get leftover 2015's for 11k

Thanks I couldn't find any left overs except for a 2017 which was only $300 less than the 18 so I bought the 18.

I think your goal is awesome. It takes a LOT of riding to put 100,000 miles on a motorcycle. I put 100,000 on my ST and I rode about every rideable day for the last 5 years and many cross country trips.

I've put 40,000 on my CB, but at 68, I don't envision making it to 100K before I am done riding.

Oh, I dunno, Ferret. If you stay off the FJR except for long trips, you should do it easily.

My local dealer that I've bought a bunch of bikes from Beechmont Yamaha is a Yammie dealer so this was a no brainer for me.

Grandkids # 3 & 4 (of 5) helped me pick it up lol

I took the long way home which included riding "the Loop" (all new bikes that come to my house ride "the Loop" first day)

A lot different than the ST. Kinda like a big full dressed liquid cooled shaft drive CB1100 lol. 25 horses more and 80 pounds less than the ST. A bit taller, but I had the seat cut down on the ST and will have the same guy do this one. Need to get a trunk but waffling on brand and size. Any suggestions?

I've always said my favorite motor is the liter + inline 4. This bike should be riight up my ally.

Oooh that's a nice bike, built for touring. The little fellas might even fit in those panniers. Congratulations on the bike and even more on the happy grand kids.
