RE: What oil are peeps using for their oil changes? - GoldOxide_imp - 12-02-2022 Hand tighten canister oil filers. End of [oil filter] thread. RE: What oil are peeps using for their oil changes? - Tev62 - 12-03-2022 OK, not saying another word................Doh! RE: What oil are peeps using for their oil changes? - ride4now_imp - 12-06-2022 I’ve gone to using Amsoil synthetic in all of my bikes. Previously I was using the mfg brands like Honda, Kawasaki, Harley etc. Amsoil 10/30 synthetic with a Honda oil filter for the CB. Why did I change? The only reason I can give is that I’ve bought into the fact that Amsoil ‘might’ be a better oil. I say ‘might’… but who really knows. Right? RE: What oil are peeps using for their oil changes? - GoldOxide_imp - 12-06-2022 Been using Shell Rotella T6 5W40 Full Synthetic (MA/MA2) for years (CB1100, NC750X, CRF1000). Now using Canadian Tire MotoMaster Diesel 5W40 Full Synthetic (MA/MA2) made by Shell (Rotella) because it costs less and is often on sale. RE: What oil are peeps using for their oil changes? - Cormanus - 12-06-2022 So … is Amsoil Am’s oil or Am soil? RE: What oil are peeps using for their oil changes? - PowerDubs_imp - 12-07-2022 ...and is AM like HAM or AM like ALMond / AMEN ?? I guess even some people say A men. Having seen all the internal memos and Honda R&D's technical deep dives, higher viscosity is better which is common folk law is grossly incorrect. I wish I could share those documents but I can't, gagging order in force. I use Honda genuine oil, I will never be popular here. soz. And here I was searching for threads about failing O2 sensors and faulty catalytic converters... Can't seem to find any. How about that?! ![]() In case anyone missed the dedicated thread, Rotella T5 10w30 is now JASO MA/MA2 spec'd. Zinc content is comparable to T6 and T4, around 1000 ppm.
