I’ve gone to using Amsoil synthetic in all of my bikes. Previously I was using the mfg brands like Honda, Kawasaki, Harley etc. Amsoil 10/30 synthetic with a Honda oil filter for the CB. Why did I change? The only reason I can give is that I’ve bought into the fact that Amsoil ‘might’ be a better oil. I say ‘might’… but who really knows. Right?

Been using Shell Rotella T6 5W40 Full Synthetic (MA/MA2) for years (CB1100, NC750X, CRF1000).

Now using Canadian Tire MotoMaster Diesel 5W40 Full Synthetic (MA/MA2) made by Shell (Rotella) because it costs less and is often on sale.

10w-30 and I will not deviate even if I lived on Mars. Having seen all the internal memos and Honda R&D's technical deep dives, higher viscosity is better which is common folk law is grossly incorrect.

I wish I could share those documents but I can't, gagging order in force. I use Honda genuine oil, I will never be popular here. soz.

I would recommend Honda GN4 to any Honda owner.

LOL!

And here I was searching for threads about failing O2 sensors and faulty catalytic converters... Can't seem to find any. How about that?! Wink

In case anyone missed the dedicated thread, Rotella T5 10w30 is now JASO MA/MA2 spec'd. Zinc content is comparable to T6 and T4, around 1000 ppm.
