my software cant reflash a say "a23" to the "a24" with out corrupting it im pretty sure they have different firmware inside im sure honda has some cool programs to flash them though

You're right, ferret. My idle problem was cured by a new injection software programm by Honda. I had to 'step on their feet' to get it but it worked and I got it without paying money for it. But it took a while.

I tried real hard to get Honda USA to upgrade my ECU, but they refused. They told me it was illegal for them to modify anything related to the emissions system.

I had the rough idle and a surging idle about 2yrs ago. Found a couple of the rubber intake runners were leaking (vacuum leak). Snugged up the clamps, and all was good.

Arrows show the four clamps. Good luck.

Razor, thank you so much for your timely post. All of my clamps were very loose and made the bike run lean when hot, which made it surge at small throttle openings and drive me crazy. Also sometimes the idle would drop to 800 rpm when hot. After tightening the clamps and taking it for a 90 mile test drive, it is running like new.
