RE: Show your lid - Olyrider - 12-29-2015 round or long-oval? Very cool!!! RE: Show your lid - Rebel73_imp - 12-29-2015 "Some helmets have a very obvious internal shape, but the XR1R could probably be called neutral, with a very slight narrow top and sides but which should fit the vast majority of head shapes." I anticipate it being completely covered in a couple of years (which will hide some of the imperfections in my application technique) ![]()
RE: Show your lid - jedd_imp - 01-14-2016 The pic attached & inserted below is my Scorpion EXO-1000 helmet. The cheek pads and ear pads are not only removable, but also inflatable. THe pump is located behind the chin bar. Inflated, the pads expand to seal the ears, therefore reducing a significant amount of air noise when riding. The expansion also makes the fitment extremely snug. IT has drop down sunshade visor. In the pic attached & inserted below, the day glow one is an Arai XD4 I use for d/s. It's lightweight, has lots of venting, and a fixed shield to block sunlight. What I wish it would have is a drop down sun visor as well. The one on the left is an Arai something. It's 4 yrs old, but it fits me like my favorite pair of Levi's. It's quiet, lightweight, and has a drop down wind blocker to close off the air opening beneath your chin, so w/ that piece pulled down, it keeps cold air from hitting your upper neck and lower cheek bones. RE: Show your lid - metallyguitarded_imp - 01-31-2016 I've added to my collection of helmets. I placed my order this morning for a Biltwell Gringo. I'm very happy with my Biltwell Bonanza and hope that the Gringo works just as well. I'll post my impressions in the gear section once I have a chance to ride with it.
