RE: Rubber Lever End Thingies - Lord Popgun - 03-02-2016 Cormanus, you are right (natch) about not needing pliers. However, when Ridem and I put RLETS on the ST1300 levers we had to use pliers to open the RLETS enough to get over the big lever ends. Took both of us, a lot of lube, some heat, and most likely dirty words...
RE: Rubber Lever End Thingies - Riko_imp - 03-02-2016 Yeah i heard of the more common and safe technique But if you use pliers with a wide + some lubricant it will also work. Probably still was no match for the debauchery involved fitting RLETs to Ride For Now's CB at the rally. The rich matrix of grunts, groans and other unmentionable sounds still hangs like a fog over the mountain valley. RE: Rubber Lever End Thingies - pdedse - 03-03-2016 I'm tellin' ya: 15 seconds microwave, 1 drop olive oil (make sure it's extra virgin!) on the interior rim of the RLET, ...and they slide right on using dry fingers pushing with a good deal of steady force. Of course, if you get any oil on the round exterior of the RLET or on your fingers...you're screwed! Disclaimer: other methods have worked but they are not dealership approved. RE: Rubber Lever End Thingies - Lord Popgun - 03-05-2016 Alright Congrats!!! Ferret will show you the secret handshake at the rally! ![]() (You must never show it to Redbirds) RE: Rubber Lever End Thingies - Chapomis_imp - 03-05-2016 Any installation tips ? |
