RE: CB1100 Monthly Photo Challenge - emptysea - 12-08-2025 (12-08-2025, 12:48 PM)Gone in 60 Wrote: So this is interesting. That big pine tree I mentioned? Looked a little too trimmed. They usually let it grow out quite a bit to hold the lights and decorations. Plus, I thought it was weird that they hadn’t done any decorating a day before the tree lighting ceremony. I don't think I asked that it be some sort of official Christmas tree, just that it had to have ornaments (if it didn't, it would just be a tree). As long as that first pic was taken after the challenge was offered, then it counts as the first response and, as of now, the only response. Weird that what in my last reply I put the emoji with the sunglasses but it shows as a question mark. My plan was to go back some night coming up and take a picture of my bike under the lit up big pine tree. Oh well. I’ll have to go back and get a pic with the tree in the plaza lit up. A bit precarious as the only way to do so is to stop in traffic in the roundabout. Good thing the CB has hazard lights! Who else can get a tree pic? RE: CB1100 Monthly Photo Challenge - pdedse - 12-08-2025 Solid rain...rain...and more rain. Hard to get the motivation to get out there. I could wheel my bike out and place in front of our neighbor's display and call it good. I could wheel my bike out and place in front of our neighbor's display and call it good. It takes motivation to ride in the rain. It takes mental deficiency to ride in the snow. I'm hoping that the streets here are clear enough to ride before the end of the month. RE: CB1100 Monthly Photo Challenge - pdedse - 12-09-2025 Ferret, you sure you weren't a postman at some point? I'm thinking of the ol' addage: "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night..." RE: CB1100 Monthly Photo Challenge - Gone in 60 - 12-09-2025 Yeah, Ferret, I admire the determination, but as for me, no thanks. I'm currently in Indy for a trade show. Thinking of whether or not I'd be riding in this cold if I had the opportunity... RE: CB1100 Monthly Photo Challenge - the Ferret - 12-09-2025 LOL it's a matter of having the right gear and not worrying if the bike gets dirty RE: CB1100 Monthly Photo Challenge - emptysea - 12-10-2025 To clarify my previous comment. Ferret you were not riding "in the snow" in the pics you provided, though I have no doubt, at some point in your illustrious riding history, you were caught someplace where there was accumulated snow on the road and managed to get your bike and yourself safely home. I did the first part, the getting caught out with snow on the ground, but I did not manage the navigation for the second part. That I was out there at all definitely showed a mental deficiency of which my wife reminds me every time we get snow. Yes, I know people with specially modified bikes ride in snow and on ice, but it takes a special hardiness, combined with a special bravery, mixed in with a fair amount of stupid to set out in the serious snow on a stock CB1100 RE: CB1100 Monthly Photo Challenge - the Ferret - 12-10-2025 LOL just messin' with ya Sea. I try real hard not to ride in the snow. It's slippery
