RE: Gear sprocket changes to improve acceleration - shdwghst457_imp - 06-30-2014 How great is our bike of choice if we're now discussing ways to tame the monster a bit? I realize my cruising RPM will elevate with this, and because the bike is already really powerful I don't want to go to too extreme measures here. How can I make the bike pull harder? Should the front or rear sprocket be swapped, or both? Is one a more difficult endeavor than the other? Same question in regards to price. to accelerate faster all you need to do is downshift. it is that simple. RE: Gear sprocket changes to improve acceleration - shdwghst457_imp - 07-01-2014 Can't downshift from first! RE: Gear sprocket changes to improve acceleration - Ack-CB11_imp - 07-01-2014 For hard street battles I used to go -1 on the front and +3 on the rear. Might be too much on a long ride though. I voted both. Hard core track tricks: 1. 520 chain conversion -1 & +3 2. remove wheel seals 3. remove chain slider RE: Gear sprocket changes to improve acceleration - shdwghst457_imp - 07-03-2014 I'm backing off from this. I was already going 30 or so when I felt it start to kick out from under me; that's good enough! RE: Gear sprocket changes to improve acceleration - stray750_imp - 07-24-2014 Thanks for all the information, I ordered my 17 tooth front sprocket last night! http://www.amazon.com/JT-Sprockets-JTF339-17-Steel-Sprocket/dp/B000GTZ168 |
