RE: CB1100 is under powered - RetroSeattle_imp - 06-15-2014 CB1100 under-powered? Bollocks, as the English would say. I've had dozens of motorcycles over the last 45 years and the CB1100 is perfect for what it is. That is, a big, lazy, fun bike that does not encourage you to ride like a nut case but has plenty of grunt. It also gets really good gas mileage, I can get 50 miles per gallon with my wife on the back. If you want something faster, buy a GSXR750 and velcro your license to the side of your helmet so you don't have to search for it when the local cop pulls you over. RE: CB1100 is under powered - banjobart_imp - 06-15-2014 The Suzuki gsx1250fa Bandit definitely has more mojo, better for two-up riding. I am 240 soaking wet and never think the CB1100 is underpowered, you just have to keep it revved up. It surprised me again today how quick it is if you ride it hard and keep the rpm's high. It takes curves like a magic carpet. I scraped a couple pegs today, what fun! RE: CB1100 is under powered - Offroad - 06-17-2014 I pulled out into the right lane of a 4 lane highway today. Coming up the left lane was a car doing about 55mph. I pulled out about even with the car, rolled back the throttle to about 7-8K, the car never passed me. That is all the power I need. I probably went from 0-60 in maybe 3-4 seconds? I test rode a CB1000R that had a 0-60 in under 3 seconds, but I just couldn't imagine ever needing that much acceleration. RE: CB1100 is under powered - wildezt_imp - 06-17-2014 She does 0 to 60 in 3.3 secs..with that said ..the CB is a bike to take things a little easy while riding...its a surprisingly easy bike..almost you don't feel the bike at all...it was designed exclusively to take things a little easy.... |
