That is a good comparison, Thanks, I always wanted to see what it would look like, to me it will be more consistant then stainless steel turning a golden color.

I don't have the stock muffler anymore but it was turning brown just like the headers after only 800 miles as seen below.

The Cermakrome is more matte than polished stainless or chrome; which was surprising because the pictures on the website show a highly polished reflective finish. For all I know, the shop that I used may not have polished it enough to get to that level.

Jet-hot.com quoted me an "Extreme 1300 Polished Finish" so I'm wondering if that is more shiny and less matte than this one.

The slip-on in the picture is a Moriwaki (stainless) and brand new, so it will be interesting to see how each fairs over the new few months since they will be starting at the same point.

Interesting that your muffler turned. Nothing past my catalytic converter area has ever changed color.

Sure, more than happy to help out. Smile

I was surprised the slip on was turning brown that far down as well DG. It's very noticeable next to the exhaust guard.

Mine has been doing the same thing since it was about a year old. It didn't surprise me. Between the heat coming from the cat and the heat on a typical Phoenix summer day, I'll be happy if the pipe doesn't melt.

RE: yellowing pipe and headers - JPX_imp - 09-05-2015

Here are some pictures of the ceramic coated header. I'll update in a few weeks whether they have started changing color at all. The Moriwaki is already starting to turn a golden tint around the area where the muffler and header meet. I may end up sending the muffler to be ceramic coated as well but we'll see... Looks very good!

RE: yellowing pipe and headers - the Ferret - 09-05-2015

wow that is a lot of yellowing very quickly back at the collector

RE: yellowing pipe and headers - JPX_imp - 09-05-2015

Yeah, 20 miles and already turning. Although I will say that the Moriwaki is turning more gracefully than the stock one (gold is better than brown). Smile

I think that's going to just be how it is with the standards. With the deluxe, the exhaust gases are getting split into two directions so less heat gets to each of the mufflers. With the standard though, all the gases go to a single point which accelerates the discoloration of the can.
