RE: Current tire options for alloy wheels (tubeless tires) - LucienLeFranc - 07-24-2026 Cormanus, yes! I'm definitely overthinking! But not in danger, I just like to keep my brain engaged and enjoy a good rabbit hole or three. :D At this point, I think I'm about done, though? As far as Bridgestone, here in the USA at least, there are three solid options in the exact sizes for CB1100 cast wheels: BT46 (bias), BT54 (radial with more "classic" profile and compound), and T32 (radial with more modern profile and compound). I don't think anyone can go wrong with any of those choices, but--at this point in my thought process--BT54s make the most sense for me, an important deciding factor being that the Honda engineers designed the CB1100 to be an homage to and epitome of their big-air-cooled-four superbikes, which would not only look the part, but also deliver the perfected homage riding experience of said bikes, and the BT54 is the tire that the designers specified to deliver that perfect homage experience. If I was a more technical rider pushing the limits, then T32 could be the better choice, delivering less of that homage experience in favor of marginally better performance, but I'm really not a more technical rider pushing the limits. :-/ And then the BT54 final selling point: the numerous glowing testimonials here on the forum and elsewhere as a great tire for this bike. Trigger pulled: BT54s on the way! RE: Current tire options for alloy wheels (tubeless tires) - Cormanus - 07-24-2026 We need a report when they're installed and tested! RE: Current tire options for alloy wheels (tubeless tires) - peterbaron - 07-24-2026 ...and need to know this tire/BT54 tread depth RE: Current tire options for alloy wheels (tubeless tires) - Lunchbag - 07-24-2026 I've been happy with my BT54 set installed last year. The price I saw recently on Amazon for both was ~$50 less than your best price found on the T32 set. I'm not riding on the ragged edge. I can't speak yet for wear/life. My best argument against the BT54 would be the front tire tread depth which someone mentioned earlier in this post. I may not be happy with the tread wear/life. If I'm unhappy with it, I'll go to something else next time. RE: Current tire options for alloy wheels (tubeless tires) - LucienLeFranc - 07-24-2026 Thanks for the BT54 input! As a noob CB1100 rider, and after learning more and more about this special "perfected homage" bike, I figure I should run BT54s at least once to see how the Honda engineers intended the bike to perform before considering other tires that will cause the bike to perform (to some degree) differently than Honda intended. Nevertheless, I still catch myself questioning my choice of BT54 over T32, despite it no longer mattering now that I've pulled the trigger on the BT54s. At this point, I'm just wheel spinning ( )--I need to feed my brain a new obsession to drown out this tire one...Hmmm... What's the best oil?...
RE: Current tire options for alloy wheels (tubeless tires) - LucienLeFranc - 07-24-2026 I should have added: Thanks to everyone for taking the time to help the new guy!
