I can understand not enjoying riding in the rain. But I find pleasure in every ride, regardless of the weather. I'm retired (going on 7 years in May), have a nice Honda truck with 55,000 miles on it, so I don't have to ride.... or drive either. Every mile I ride is strictly for pleasure. If I didn't enjoy it, I wouldn't do it.

I relate riding in weather like camping (I know not everyone enjoys camping).
If you think about it you go 'glamping' and try to recreate all the comforts of home....stove, refrigerator, bathroom, shower, TV, A/C....woefully inferior to what you could have had by just staying at home....but there's an adventure to it.
Riding you get all kinds of gear, windshields, etc...when it would have been much easier to just take a car....but where's the challenge/adventure in that LOL

My buddy and I were riding back from California in 2014 and we got chased by a horrible black sky, high winds and lightning storm across Wyoming into Colorado, which caught up with us and turned into biblical rain. When we got outside of Denver we hit a hotel. The next morning dawned dry, so we hit Pikes Peak (and 32 degrees), then after leaving PP on our way into Kansas we got into some wind that made you ride on a 45 degree angle, with gusts that would let up momentarily, then hit again, moving us sideways a full lane. A very interesting 30 hours on a motorcycle to say the least, but I wouldn't have given that up experience for anything. There were lots of days when it was nice and we just rode but it is no fun to talk about the blue bird days where nothing happened, and we just rode for hours on end, but we will be thinking about, and talking about that 30 hours from Wyoming to Kansas for the rest of our lives.
Edit 11:11 am Just got dressed to go riding. Yep it's raining. 3rd day in a row, but I will have a good time regardless. Supposed to turn to snow flurries about 5 pm and I'd rather ride while it's warm enough to rain than when the roads are wet and it's cold enough to snow. Both beat just sitting around in the house though.

I love the 70's & 80's bikes, the UJM. They say "motorcycle" to me, even tho I've ridden plenty of H-D's.
