RE: Live to Ride...Ride to Eat - Stichill_imp - 04-18-2017 It was three or four years ago. I remember the place was near a marina and was full of yuppies and "cool" baby boomers. The fish tacos looked more or less like this rabbit food: I found some pics that look like they have fried fillets inside...that might be pretty tasty!
RE: Live to Ride...Ride to Eat - the Ferret - 04-18-2017 The ones my wife ate at Fishermans Warf in San Fran looked like the bottom ones with filets in them RE: Live to Ride...Ride to Eat - Stichill_imp - 04-18-2017 ferret I think you're talking yourself into some deep-fried yummy fish tacos!
RE: Live to Ride...Ride to Eat - the Ferret - 04-18-2017 Lol. I can do Mrs Pauls fish sticks, or a Frishes fish sandwich without lettuce or tarter sauce, but that's about as far as I go for seafood. I always figure if the almighty had wanted me to eat things that live in the ocean he would have given me gills and fins instead of lungs and legs. RE: Live to Ride...Ride to Eat - Stichill_imp - 04-19-2017 Eddie Murphy had a comedy album back in the '80s where he joked that fish sticks are one of those foods you never serve to guests. "Hey c'mon over to our place Saturday night. We're having FISH STICKS!" ![]() So living in SW Ohio you're not a fan of Catholic Friday night fish frys? I'm not Catholic nor a native of the area but I love 'em!
RE: Live to Ride...Ride to Eat - the Ferret - 04-19-2017 Lol funny but my wife was Catholic (she calls herself a recovering Catholic) and my mom actually served fish every Friday night which I really didn't care for.... some kind of block of white fish maybe 10" square, 2" thick, with butter and salt and pepper on top baked..at least that's how I remember it. Maybe cod? It wasn't very fishy tasting. I slathered catsup all over it and rinsed it down with milk.(still slather ketcup on my fish lol). When I do have fish it is usually on a Friday for some goofy reason. I much prefer beef, or pork or chicken or turkey. RE: Live to Ride...Ride to Eat - Nortoon_imp - 04-19-2017 I tried poached halibut once. it was terribly bland. I like halibut or cod battered and deep fried. Having it without the batter would be like pancakes without syrup. RE: Live to Ride...Ride to Eat - Cormanus - 04-19-2017 Ah ... catsup, ketchup, whatever ... the best thing in the world for disguising the taste of something we don't like. It's like putting Coke with spirits. RE: Live to Ride...Ride to Eat - Stichill_imp - 04-19-2017 I'm with you Norton! RE: Live to Ride...Ride to Eat - the Ferret - 04-19-2017 LOL Catsup or Ketchup (depending on which way you learned to spell it) is my go to condiment for most any meat |
