RE: Let's see your CB1100 out on the road! - Nachodaddy - 06-21-2022 Obviously the person who decided to make it in mid-June doesn't live and ride in Arizona. It is a nice, cool day though. Only 96 as I write this at 10:00 AM. Never fear, it will warm up for your ride home. RE: Let's see your CB1100 out on the road! - Gone in 60 - 06-21-2022 Ha Ha! For someone who rides to work daily, yesterday was the only day in memory that I didn't ride to work. For a good part of Sunday afternoon while I was giving tours at the museum, my phone was buzzing away in my pocket. By the time I could check it, I found out that a coworker was stranded many miles away in Fontana with our old company van which was dead. He got a ride home from his wife, and he and I drove out yesterday morning with a bag full of tools to try to fix the van and limp it home. I could have ridden out there, but if I got the van running, I'd be stuck with two vehicles far from home or work. Turns out I didn't have any luck and had to tow the van. I rode today though, and if the delivery from Rock Auto arrives today, our van will be back in action too. RE: Let's see your CB1100 out on the road! - Gone in 60 - 06-21-2022 Poor old company van gets plenty of love from me to keep it alive, but we do pack it like a mule when we have to. It's an old, faded Honda Odyssey that has been gutted inside for cargo. Paint is peeling, it's dented up, and the catalytic converter has been replaced with a straight pipe so there's nothing left to steal. Not pretty, but blends in very well in our run-down industrial neighborhood. It replaced a rather nice truck, which was stolen on a fairly regular basis. RE: Let's see your CB1100 out on the road! - The A-man - 06-22-2022 Another beautiful day in WNC, and so I decided to head out for a few hours' ride before the heat built up too much. I went over to pick up hwy 80, up to the BRP. Stopped and took this pic at an overlook because if you know where to look, you can just see the lake that I live on, about 40 or so miles from this spot. It's just to the left of my mirrors, where the horizon meets the trees. Looks like little mud puddles, but hard to see in the pics, much clearer in person. ![]() Then I continued on south on the BRP to the entrance to Mount Mitchell. ![]() Kids - you too can take a picture of your bike right here! You just have to join us for the 2022 East Coast Rally! Then, I turned around, headed north for a brief stop in Little Switzerland. Too early for lunch at the Switzerland Inn, so headed north again to Linville, and got off for a nice burger at "Louise's Famous Rockhouse Grill". Then a brief jaunt across 183 to 181 south and back home. About 120 mile loop on a perfect weather day... though it was getting uncomfortably warm once I came down off the mountains! RE: Let's see your CB1100 out on the road! - GoldOxide_imp - 06-22-2022 Lovely A-man. RE: Let's see your CB1100 out on the road! - Nachodaddy - 06-22-2022 That is beautiful country.
