Truth be told, I have no real need for the off road capabilities this probably possesses. A mega motard based on this might be fun. From everything I've read, it's more likely Yamaha will make a mid-size ADV twin based on the FZ-07 motor, which I have to admit probably appeals to me even more than this Honda 1000. I also think if they price it right, Yamaha dealers will be flooded with KLR650 trade ins! The FZ07 does make about 10 more hp and few lb ft of torque than the V-strom 650. That said, I don't think I'd be enticed enough to let go of my Strom for one of those. With the way Yamaha has been making some cool products, I would expect such a bike to be nothing less than a hit. Yep, saw that this morning. I watched all the other videos too. In one of the videos one of the development riders -- who had also been a development rider for the original CBR900RR -- stated that this new CRF will be a game changer like the 900 was. Being sceptical by nature I will wait and see, but in any case that's a pretty bold statement. I'll bet KTM is nervously awaiting the release of this bike... RE: New 2016 Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin - BestStandard_imp - 05-15-2015 Sounds like its official... the CRF1000L is coming to the US sometime early next year, some other 2016 models also announced: http://www.powersportsbusiness.com/top-stories/2015/05/12/honda-announces-new-africa-twin-crf1000l/ http://www.slashgear.com/honda-crf1000l-africa-twin-motorcycle-coming-to-us-12383238/ RE: New 2016 Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin - Redbird_imp - 05-16-2015 Stubby legs, boy can I relate! It is a big problem with a lot of bikes I thought I would like, UNTIL I sat on them. |
