RE: CB77 - the Ferret - 03-21-2015 Congrats! Now that will give you something to do with your retirement time...and money lol RE: CB77 - JustPassinThru_imp - 03-21-2015 That's a gem - aside from all the pitted chrome. A shame it only got a couple thousand miles on it - and then was left to rot. The chrome on the speedo and other trim, those will probably be the worst to deal with. Otherwise...what you have is a rideable classic there. Give it a good life. It makes me think of a late-middle-aged spinster, who discovers so late the joys of making whoopie... RE: CB77 - flynrider - 03-21-2015 Congrats, Ole! She's a real beauty. RE: CB77 - furious_blue_imp - 03-21-2015 Wow ! The paper of the air filter is still one piece after all that time. What a beauty ! RE: CB77 - Cormanus - 03-21-2015 Great find, Ole! MTC, hope backing out of the contract wasn't too expensive. Those air filters look good until you touch them. Already ordered 2 new filters with new rubber boots from California. $100 researching carb kits on eBay they are not expensive at all RE: CB77 - Scoobynut_imp - 03-22-2015 Ole, that is a really nice find. It will make a really nice rider once you go through the mechanicals and clean it up a bit. I've had perfectly restored classics before, but the 'rider' class machines are better to own if you plan on riding it. Worrying about every little imperfection on a perfect bike is kind of a fools errand if you ask me. Have fun with it! I got bored and headed to the basement. The old girl looks a little different. ![]() That rust pile came out of the mufflers ![]() I need to get my Fluke out and check some continuity in some wires this looks like the only bad spot ![]() Taking the gas tank to work to clean out some fine rust and a tiny amount of shellac. I will start with simple green then vinegar if that don't cut it some paint thinner will all diluted with some hot water
