RE: 1980 XS850...one of my unicorns - misterprofessionality - 04-16-2019 that's precisely why that bike is also on my list. it's an absolute beast. it reminds me of a stampeding buffalo RE: 1980 XS850...one of my unicorns - GoldOxide_imp - 04-16-2019 (04-16-2019, 09:58 PM)misterprofessionality_imp Wrote: that's precisely why that bike is also on my list. it's an absolute beast. it reminds me of a stampeding buffalo Great analogy! A bison. I never thought of it that way, but I see it. RE: 1980 XS850...one of my unicorns - Houtman_imp - 04-16-2019 I had two Honda VF1000R's very strong and great running bikes but road holding was not great with the 16 inch front tires. When better tires cam available a few years later it was better. I used the Metzeler Competion K tires, had to get them from CA . It also was a heavy bike and no room to work on the carbs. RE: 1980 XS850...one of my unicorns - misterprofessionality - 04-18-2019 welp, this is a dead issue. after some research i've discovered that the shaft drive is really going to stick in my craw. if i upgrade the forks, it's going to cost me a fortune to get a matching rear wheel that works with the shaft drive. bummer in a big way. Lesson learned, i'm only shopping for chain drive from now on. no big deal though. this money was going to go to upgrading my CB anyway.
