Hmm. I don't think so. When the bike is standing still and you hit the horn, the speedo needle doesn't move. And when the bike is standing still, there's no wind noise to drown out the horns, so the sound of the horns themselves would be the loudest. So I don't think the speedo needle is a decibel meter for the horn. Good idea though.

Since Honda has the trademark on “Interceptor” in the U.S., our bikes are called “INT650”s. I picked up a pair of Indian market side panels that say Interceptor. Also, since the smaller rectangular turn signals apparently didn’t meet DOT standards we got bigger round signals. I don’t particularly like them and got a set of rectangles.

Both of these were super cheap on EBay. Parts from India are cheap and come extremely well packaged. As for my bike, yeah I cleaned the goop out of the relays and replaced them with Panasonics, all for less than 20 bucks.

Funny thing, I thought I had a relay issue when the headlight went out, turned out that the previous owner didn’t fully snap the headlight socket back on the bulb after installing a factory accessory windscreen, which is also super cheap.

I’m sure you’re on the two RE forums. Plenty of other tricks and tips, like replacing the easy-to-drop left side panel screw with a GoPro thumb screw knob.

Also speaking of speedos, check your cable from the front wheel to the bracket on the fork tube. If it’s tight, loosen the bracket and rotate it a bit to get more slack. Many are too tight. Mine was and caused the cable to fail. Maybe my replacement cable is wonky causing the weird connection with the horn.

Finally make sure to keep up with valve adjustments. This ain’t a Honda, and with screw adjustment, super easy.
