RE: Tires - Jim21680_imp - 07-29-2013 I changed tires myself once on my old F800ST, using c-clamps, ropes, pliers, snips, blocks of wood, maybe even the sawzall. It's not something I'll do again.......if you don't have the proper tools, it's a job worth every penny of that $80 bucks! RE: Tires - Lord Popgun - 07-29-2013 Jim, I'll agree with that! I once fought those little tires on a riding lawn mower. My last couple of changes have been to Avon Azaros which seem to last just a little while longer and perform well... Oh, about changing tires with hand tools.. I did it once, well a buddy of mine did it and I helped, changing the front tire for my now gone Speed Triple.. I cringed at levering the tire off and on to the dark grey painted wheels. I think (?) the tire machine at a professional installer is less likely to nick the finish (?). I'm happy to pay to have it done.. RE: Tires - CA200_imp - 07-30-2013 When I need to change a tire I just walk out to my garage hyWhen we had our retail store we never plugged tires. We didn't even have the stuff to do it. Only a few times did we have people walk when we would not repair or plug their tire and then they would come back after their flat or crash and buy tires from us. We still sold more tires then anyone in the area. ( We only did wheel only mounts, you had to bring us your wheels) [/img] RE: Tires - Yoyodyne_imp - 07-30-2013 Got my last set of tires at CA200's shop, great prices and top-notch installation quality! Don't know where I'm gonna get my next tires done...

Nah, he's enjoying a well-earned retirement so I'll get my re-tiring needs handled elsewhere! RE: Tires - Lord Popgun - 07-30-2013 As it turns out, Honda says the tire (Dunlop) is backordered until 11 Aug. And the dealer hopes they don't push it back. I may do ferret's thing until it comes. Plug it that is. I'm only riding it on a 45mph road anyway most of the time. RE: Tires - Randy B - 07-30-2013 Ack....I had better get on ordering my Bridgestones...soon. I just flipped 7000 tonight.
RE: Tires - OldF7Guy_imp - 07-30-2013 So is the consensus here that if a man was going to buy a new CB he would be better off if he could find one with Bridgestone tires over the Dunlops? |
