RE: New Tires Choices - the Ferret - 07-31-2021 7400 miles with lots of life left? You got my attention RE: New Tires Choices - Cormanus - 07-31-2021 Me too. I thought they performed very well on the road, including the hot deserts and rainy environments. Seem to have a lot of life left in them. Thinking these are my new fav tire choice to replace my previous fav PR3's. Will post photos soon. Would you remember how much thread (in mm) these tires had when new ? Did you measure by any chance ? RE: New Tires Choices - Cqrlm911_imp - 08-24-2021 I just installed Bridgestone bt46 tire on my 17 Ex and I am very impressed compared to Dunlop D205 that came on bike. Hopefully they wear better too- I average 3,500 to 4000 miles on last 2 sets of Dunlop’s RE: New Tires Choices - Rogerdj_imp - 08-26-2021 Has anyone got comments on Pirelli Sport Demon tyres then? RE: New Tires Choices - Cormanus - 08-26-2021 They're bias ply rather than radial, but they seem to me to ride fine. I've got nearly 6,000 kms on the rear and 1,800 kms on the front and they're wearing fine. noroomtomove has run at least one and maybe two sets of them if I recall correctly. They have got what looks like good, deep rain removing grooves, high speed rating and claims of high mileage. Like I posted earlier, I have BS on both of my CB's, the Z900RS and the GS1100E I am also working on. Think the 160 might be just a little too wide for our rims to cause the wobbling? Everyone else who tried 160 has no complaints. It seems only I had that issue. Now that I'm back to stock size the bike seems more stable. Where I ride there are nasty crosswinds and that could be a factor too, and if I'm behind a truck the bike wobbles some. When you put a 160 on a 140 rim you are pinching the tire and instead of a larger contact patch you may have a smaller one. Anyway for those who like the 160 rear and 120 front I have 1 of each for sale, they have maybe 1000 or less miles you can have both for 100 bucks, pickup only, in Carmichael CA RE: New Tires Choices - Houtman_imp - 08-27-2021 That is why I went for a 150 rear (Continental ) RE: New Tires Choices - peterbaron - 08-27-2021 (08-27-2021, 05:29 AM)Houtman_imp Wrote: That is why I went for a 150 rear (Continental ) John, what exact tire & size is it? RE: New Tires Choices - Houtman_imp - 08-27-2021 On my 2013 I have the Continental Trail Attack 2 in 150/70 18 R and on my 2014 I have the Continental Trail Attack 3 in 150/70 18 R Both tubeless tires .I really like these tires they are 90/10 ( 90 road 10 off road ) I never go off road with them , they warm up quickly and good in rain. Not the cheapest but suit my bikes very well. |
