Back in May when I found mine there are not many ABS models around and I was too psyched to wait for one.
My old K75 had ABS, the only ABS bike I ever rode, and it was fairly transparent. I always used brake as I always had and never had any issues with it. I have known a few guys with ABS bikes and only one, a Gold Wing rider, was generally unhappy with it. Honda's history of ABS on all types of vehicles is long and they are a careful company. I would tend to respect their engineering.
In 18 years as a Regional Service Rep with GM I encountered many issues with ABS performance, both real and imagined. I knew the Reps for the other domestic and many import manufacturers. I can honestly ay that in 18 years I never had nor heard of a demonstrated case of ABS failure where it resulted in loss of normal brake function. Every system I ever saw, Lockheed, Kelsey-Hayes, Delco, Bendix or the imports all started with the design point that loss or malfunction in the system results in normal hydraulic function. I do not doubt that anyone experienced some sort of event but, much like the repots of un-intended acceleration the demonstrable facts ofter do not support the public's perceptions.
