GS 750T's were great bikes. I loved the paint scheme on them. Good basic motorcycle that could be had for a great price.
Some still list quarter miles but few seem to test them at the strip anymore.Now they test them at the track. Lap times have replaced 1/4 mile times.
Yes they do it at the track now. But, how many motorcycles go to a track ? Only sport type bikes. You don't see dressers at no track!! My 920 Virago had a stock seat on it. It was red and was very (cold) running, that is. It popped and made crazy exhaust sounds !! I use it for trade on a new 1987 GoldWing Aspentcade. Last year for the 4. My first Honda and I loved it. My running mate ( wife) we rode all over the east coust on it. But, it could not hang with the BMW motors. Later, and God Bless...

The new Dodge Challenger is styled after the 1969 Challenger for the same reason. And the last three redesigns of the Mustang incorporate countless styling cues from 1960s Mustangs. You probably never saw the movie "Gone in 60 Seconds" that was phenomenally popular with young boys and featured a 1960s Shelby Mustang. Here in Scottsdale Arizona I see high school boys driving 1964 to 1969 standard Mustangs because they can't afford the fast backs and they certainly can't afford a genuine Shelby. Before it even came out the new Camaro drove young kids crazy during the "Transformers" movie with its 1969 styling. Kids cheered when that car came on the screen. When my young nephews were 14 and 15 years old, they saved their own money to purchase books about 1960s Shelby Mustangs. And you should see the reaction my 1965, 289 Mustang got when I picked my son up from school. All the best.

Ha- agreed! I'm 30, bought my CB a year and a half ago after upgrading from my SV650. My dad has a '66 Mustang convertible that we're restoring, that I hope to look after one day. Classic cars and bikes have always resonated with me, I remember scouring the Sunday classifieds for my first car starting when I was about 12.

My only time behind the wheel of a Shelby Mustang was back in the early 80s when I was dating the daughter of a wealthy Scottsdale real estate developer. I showed up on my KZ750 (my only transportation) and he wasn't having any of that. Instead he handed me the keys to his GT500. When we split up, I missed that car a lot more than the girl

I own a 67 coupe, 289 w auto trans although the VIN reads it were a 4 speed. Its mostly restored outside of the interior and i have it on the road. Its the young kids and old guys who seem really drawn to it. Folks in the 30-40 year old range hardly seem to give it a look.

I agree. The CB is a good looking classic with retro style! As soon as I found a DLX available I jumped on the opportunity to get one.
I would have a hard time not telling that salesperson what I thought of his remarks as I bought mine last year when I was 39 and don't think I'm old, I just have good taste.
As a matter of fact, I had mine out this past Sunday morning and a guy with a Harley pulled up next to me at an intersection and commented on how the CB was nice looking.

Chip, you nailed it. Cool is cool and always will be. A little over ten years ago when they announced the 5th Gen Mustang that finally looked like a "real" Mustang again, I told my wife I had to have one eventually. Four years ago, I picked up a clean 2006, modded it nicely, and it's been my daily driver since. I get more thumbs up at stoplights and typically it's 20-30-somethings who are grinning the widest. The CB1100 follows that same mold, borrowing from all that was great in an earlier era, and I told my wife I had to have one as soon as I saw they would sell some in the US. Thank God for timing that I live in an era filled with high quality throwback models, two and four wheeled both, and also happen to be at an age when I finally can afford more toys. It will be 60+ degrees and sunny here in the Portland area tomorrow, and I'll take both the Mustang and the CB out for a spin. I can't wait. Seems like it's been a long winter here in the NW.
