RE: CB1100 RS, CB1000R & CB1100EX - peterbaron - 01-31-2018 No doubt about that Italien bikes are nice looking..but unfortunately they also have electrical and mechanical issues dating back to 70-ies as far as I remember...Magneti Marelli had a lot of electrical issues.. My cousin in Europe has a 1255cc that after removing restrictions and mods installed, it cranks up o 160km/h...he loves this small cc engine and its high "C" sound but hates problems.. ...another one here in canada has 2013 Moto Guzzi/low km and already had broken exhaust and ignition switch/cylinder.. As I said, very beautiful motorcycle but less reliable than Honda...much less ![]() But if you love it = buy it...it is your toy!!!! pb RE: CB1100 RS, CB1000R & CB1100EX - Guth_imp - 01-31-2018 How is it that the CB1100 RS weighs more than the CB1100 STD? Curb weight of 252kg = 555 lbs (vs 540 lbs for the STD). I thought someone here mentioned that it had an aluminum swingarm amongst other goodies. What's the deal, wheel/tire weight + suspension change + tank size I guess? RE: CB1100 RS, CB1000R & CB1100EX - alprider - 01-31-2018 wich standard 2013 or 2014 ? chain protection is metall sidecover is metall...wheels looks massiver (more "spokes" ).....the break looks heavier....the suspensions ? ...the forc has 3 mm more diameter ....a pipe around the saddle, how diffrent is realy the tankweight is a slip- clutch heavier ? ...well here and there some more gives total.............clear the RS has plastic fenders more littel exhaust smaller turnlights and how much lighter the alu swingarm is realy... ? RE: CB1100 RS, CB1000R & CB1100EX - VLJ_imp - 02-01-2018 Guth, the RS also has two exhaust pipes vs the single pipe for the Standard, and there's your biggest difference in weight between the two bikes. That second pipe is a good ten lbs, right there. RE: CB1100 RS, CB1000R & CB1100EX - PowerDubs_imp - 02-01-2018 (01-31-2018, 11:52 PM)alprider_imp Wrote: wich standard 2013 or 2014 ? I actually read something...somewhere, just a few days ago that mentioned the slipper clutch components are lighter. That got me interested... I have to do a lot more research - both on the bike and this new dealer before committing to buying one. The review on Motorcycle Daily was really good. But first - tomorrow I'm going to the Honda shop to inquire about the CB1100RS. Aprilia did a bang up job on this update to the Shiver and Dosoroduro! Too bad they have one of the smallest dealer networks. I'm in the Salt Lake City area and the nearest dealer to me is 7 hours away in Vegas. RE: CB1100 RS, CB1000R & CB1100EX - Banned_imp - 02-02-2018 Just got back from the Honda shop, the CB1100RS has a MSRP of $13,600 which seems quite reasonable when compared too the 2017 CB1100EX at $13,300 especially considering the upgrades. The EX will not be coming to Canada for 2018. He said they will have one on stock sometime in the next 2 weeks, my name is on it right now without fully committing to buying until I see it. No problem taking my 2014 on trade and I get the "friends and family price" not $13,600 - I've known them a long time. Looks like North America is getting shut out. Glad I grabbed one when I did, or it would have been a repeat of the 2014 Deluxe scenario all over again for me. |
