RE: Where to buy Road Comet, etc - uscgmac_imp - 03-15-2015 Is the 2013 and 2014 the same, the samurider website says its for a 2013 cb1100. Where to buy Road Comet, etc - Elipten_imp - 03-15-2015 Ask Mr T, but I doubt the same. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk RE: Where to buy Road Comet, etc - Lord Popgun - 03-15-2015 Well, check this out: http://www.samurider.com/?cat=259 Says '14 Ferret can confirm, but I believe the headlight is mounted at a different height on the '13 and '14 bikes. RE: Where to buy Road Comet, etc - the Ferret - 03-15-2015 It is my understanding on the 14 dlx, and I don't know about the 14 std, that the headlight and horns were raised 1" for a more traditional look. Seeing as how now Samurider lists different Road Comets in the link above that popgun provided for 13s and 14's that this would indeed be the case RE: Where to buy Road Comet, etc - simplest2remember_imp - 03-29-2015 Hmmm. Road comets seem to be the most natural looking front fairing, think I'll go for the taller aeroscreen in clear plastic, but not sure which black to get. Does anyone know where there are any pictures of the different stripe / 3 tone / standard black colours - since my bike is a custom colour (see below). BTW the rack is also custom made and works very well - it's a cross between the honda and the Rentech from memory - i.e. directly fits a honda box, but includes sissy bars. Dead cheap, but then I do live in Hanoi. Anyway, back to the screen - the bike is 2012, which I think means it's the same fitting as 2010-2013, and the link I have is this one - http://www.samurider.com/?p=6690 - any pics of the black anyone? Which black would suit my bike? I was at the garage because I needed to have my weak horn fixed (I want no clever comments about this), the fix was, by the way, to simply bend it forward. Anyway, what I discovered was that not only were there 2 horns (dual tone?) on the newer bikes, but they are mounted under the headlamp, rather than a single one mounted in front of the radiator (radiator - I thought it was air cooled??). My older (2012) machine looked slightly different to the newer ones. Hope this helps, Where to buy Road Comet, etc - Cormanus - 03-29-2015 My 2011 and Pterodactyl's 2010 CBS have dual horns. The radiator is an oil cooler. RE: Where to buy Road Comet, etc - Randy B - 03-30-2015 I looks to me as if you have a flat black on your bike. I would see if you can get one shipped unpainted and have it color matched when you get it or it will never look right. That's exactly what I'll do. By the way Randy - I took the liberty of checking out some of your pics, and it appears you have a comet 1 with the aeroscreen option - the same as I plan to get. Can I have some feedback on this - don't you regret not getting the standard screen, which would probably wobble less, or are you more than happy with the taller screen? And to put this in context, would you mind revealing your height? I'm 5 foot 11 inches. RE: Where to buy Road Comet, etc - the Ferret - 03-30-2015 Simplest, was yours a wreck rebuild. I almost took it for a CB700S until I looked closer. The reason I ask, 2012, repaint, 1 horn, front and rear brake levers appear bent? RE: Where to buy Road Comet, etc - Randy B - 03-30-2015 I'm fine with the taller screen. I'm 5'10" and somewhat of a bigger guy (260 lbs) and the wobble doesn't bother me, but there was a guy that put some foam between the gauges and the faring and he said that cured most off that issue. There is also a trick to put a thin strip around the inside of the housing around the headlight to keep the light from shining at you at night and I will probably do both of these "fixes" at some point. |
