Just buy the one you like and enjoy it. Do not overthink buying a bike you will enjoy for many years to come. They will run forever.

I bought my 2017 EX in June 2019 for 10K from a dealer with 100 miles on it. It also had a rack on it. I bought it because 2017 models are emissions compliant in California. Some older models are not.

All year CB1100's are 50-state compliant.

I reckon if they are formally imported into a county, then they are certified to be used in that country. That is, once they are in, they are legal in stock form. Of course, this is independent of any bylaws that obsolete model years as they age (thinking Singapore for example?). However, I don't believe none of those laws exist in North America.

That GB500 is uber rare, very nice looking bike. I hope CB11 sales numbers were a little higher than the GB, otherwise these may not be around for long, at least not many of them. That and lack of used parts availability are a concern, I guess.

The CB1000R is a sexy bike, but the lines and spirit are completely different from the CB. It would be nice if AHM got their sh*t together with pricing and sell an RS model stateside, but we all know that's very unlikely to happen. One can dream I guess

Kawi got it right with the Z900RS, that thing checks all the boxes in alot of areas, Yamaha has a good thing going with the XSR, and Honda needs to sell this here to compete https://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/Honda/Honda_CB1100_TR_Concept.htm

Finding a 2017 EX for sale in Canada is difficult because there were only 45 brought in by Honda Canada. The suggested starting price was CAN$13,299.00. But after paying the freight, dealer prep, dealer administration fee, Ontario vehicle fee, environmental fee, Provincial and Federal Sales Taxes, and licence fee; the out the door cost would be CAN$16,518.00.

I got a break because I put a deposit down in January before the dealer found the price was $399 more, and I also had a 2013 CB500 XA in excellent condition to trade in.

Because of the poor weather the last two years I have less than 20,000 kilometers (12,500 miles) on mine. I have no intentions of selling it, but if I did I would not ask less than $10,000.

You only have to walk into a Triumph Dealer and ask what the out-the-door-price on a Bonneville is and you would understand.

Just out of curiosity, anybody know how many 2017 EXs were imported to the USA?

bob Honda does not release figures. We have no idea how many of each year ro model of CB's were released/sold.
