LOL she's now an older babe and doesn't like riding on the back of the 1100. She doesn't mind the FJR however but now only when it's above 65 degrees and below 90. When she was young though, she was tough! We once left Florida and it was 94 degrees and rode straight thru to Ohio in 17 hours and when we got to Ohio it was 34 degrees. She rode thru the hardest rain I've ever seen all the way across Massachusetts and New York, and ridden in 113 degrees in Arizona. She has ridden with me to all 4 corners of this country from Maine to Florida, Arizona to Washington state and 5 countries in Europe. One could not ask for a better partner. She was a heck of a bowhunter too. Plus, unlike me, she is just a great person.

I have found the varied responses to this thread most interesting.

For those that may care... my Standard fever is starting to wane. Big Grin

I am ashamed to admit that my Deluxe has been in mothballs since I bought it. It only has 387 miles, and it is so darned nice I would be nuts to make a change. I have just too many other bikes to ride. But this year I am planning on bringing it out of the shadows.

If you want to see a sad sight, look below, otherwise turn your head. Blush

Get that Beautiful Bike out and ride it, before it becomes a forgotten " Vintage Classic " poor lonely bike! [Image: c774b1a0c76486712c4920902981b8dc.png]

That CB looks unique center-standing on that wood-lookin' (?) floor.

But ultimately yes, let the beast loose on some tar.

I was really looking hard at a '14 last year for the six-speed, but didn't want to buy from a dealer, then a clean lo-mile '13 came up locally from a private seller at a very good price, so I went with it, but I'm wondering all the time if I could get a six-speed tranny and install it in my '13.

I don't think the reduction in rpms is significant between the 5 and 6 speed. About 400 rpms if I call correctly.

You can compare your 5th gear rpms to my 6th gear rpms

55 in 6th. 2500 rpms

60 in 6th. 2750 rpms

65 in 6th. 3000 rpms

70 in 6th. 3250 rpms

75 in 6th. 3500 rpms

80 in 6th. 3750 rpms
