RE: Side Covers - 17-CB-002 - 02-16-2020

Me too I own a 2017 model (with the brushed aluminium side cover) where I would like to install the 2014 side cover.
Since new, I wanted to get a pair of the 2014 model, I like it better than the aluminium one - looks more vintage similar to the CB350 of the 70's.
From earlier discussion, I understand that only the 2 top tabs are at different locations.
I do not think that it is a difficult modification especially with today's glue/epoxy technology.
That's one of my future project.

When I bought my '13 I asked the seller about the color-matched side covers. He said he had a painter match the paint and paint 'em.

I did find the paint. I was considering doing the same thing. The nice thing about the 2017 frame is we'd only have to make new tabs on the 2014 side covers, but a repaint would be in order. I did find the paint (R-342c is the paint code - Candy Prominence Red).

My quick and dirty photo skills aren't the best, but here's what it would kind of look like with a modified 2014 panel:

Beautiful, just like I visualised it.

Did you noticed the paint difference, it's a bit darker.
