The reviews seem very positive for the 2016 FJR1300.
My main peeve is that Canada will not be getting the nice shade of Blue destined for USA.
Canada only gets a dismal Dark Gray for 2016!
The previous version came to Canada in the highly coveted Chocolate Brown!
Who makes these abysmal color choices for the Canadian market!

I agree with you...that blue is really nice. Now that blue is available in Canada, there's no excuses....you have to buy one.
I wonder if wind management on the FJR is as good as the ST?
I was pleasantly surprised to see the Blue option in addition to the Dark Grey! It is not often that the smaller Canadian market gets more colour choices than USA.
If something ever happened to my CB, the FJR is on my short list of potential replacements (along with the new Bonneville 1200). With rising insurance rates, however, I cannot afford or justify keeping two bikes on the road.
Most reviews I have read would indicate that the FJR wind management may be superior to the "somewhat antiquated and top-heavy" ST...Not my words, since there are many ST fans on this forum

Just a beautiful bike. I've loved this series since the '80s - in fact, almost bought an incredible condition '85 about a year or so ago. Still kicking myself for not doing the deal.
Unfortunately, the new ones are out of my weight class now. Probably fun, and comfortable as all get-out, but just too heavy for my tastes these days.

Just to pipe in here. Back around 2005-2007 I had a BMW R1200RT it was new and a guy that worked with me had a new FJR. I took his bike out and quite frankly was not impressed. For me and I know how this goes, the BMW was a much nicer bike than the Yamaha. Price wise the Yamaha beats the BMW and the service availability is there compared to the BMW also. My two cents. LOL!

I bought a very slightly used 08 FJR and rode it more than 4 years and 50k miles. It was a rock solid reliable bike with frightening acceleration for it's size. It was a bit top heavy, but did handle well for it's size. I traded it in on a 13 V-Strom basically because I was bored with it, probably not a wise move as I never really "bonded" with the Strom. Guess I'm just an I-4 kind of guy, I'm enjoying my 14 Std!
