In terms of '80s bikes, the 1984 Honda V30 Magna is the one I'd like to have. I came very close to buying one as a young man but was dissuaded by my mother who begged me not to ride a motorcycle. Now that I ride as an adult, it'd be interesting to see what I may - or may not - have been missing.
I remember the V30 well. Same lineage as the V65 and V45-based Magnas. Those were hot-lookin' numbers back in their day. The V65 still looks hot today. I think the V30 was chain final drive.

Yes the V30 was chain drive. Aesthetically I thought it looked the most well-balanced and proportional of the three.

it's funny you guys should mention the honda V4's....the V65 Sabre is one of my other unicorns. I can't seem to find one of those in good shape near me either. a few wrecked ones have popped up, but nothing suitable for a know-nothing pretend mechanic like me.

The V30 Magna's racier sibling. In some research I did a while back, the V4 put into the VF500F Interceptor may have had better oiling and other high-rpm enhancements absent in the version put into the V30 Magna.

i'm not sure if that's mud or just discoloration from years of not being cleaned lol. it is dirty though. my first thought was that i'd have to take it apart and deep clean the entire thing part for part.

I remember when the VF500F was the hottest in-demand bike for a few years. Every kid wanted one. I am not a full-fairing crotch-rocket type of rider, but I always liked the brilliance of the once famed Honda Interceptor.
