Header pipes are a little odd for me

Looks like they made it easy to get to the oil filter though....

And I agree with the rest, the green is nice and although I don't generally like gold on bikes that combination definitely works.

This would make a very nice starter bike.

Sadly, another tic-tac configuration for me.

I looked at the picture from the side and the odd looking headers kinda create a line that would resemble a slightly aggressive belly-pan. But this engine has been around for ages and I did a quick browse for aftermarket exhausts, the choices are plentiful. I spent many a happy mile on my old Versys, and I love that engine. The gen 1 could pull power wheelies in 1st gear, and would cruise at 160kph without distress, and there was even some pull left in 6th gear to top out at about 205.
I'm also not particularly against water cooled engines - no, it doesn't look as clean with all the hoses, but it's not a deal breaker for me. I'm genuinely interested in this bike.
So much actually that, because UAE dealership closed their doors during the pandemic, I emailed the middle east distributors about setting up a new dealership. It's a unique opportunity, I hope they reply with an acceptable offer

Setting up a dealership that you would run? That would be an interesting enterprise...might just have to visit. Would I get a discount?

Hello

Haha a discount that would quickly be erased by the cost of shipping the bike from UAE to Oregon.

Special discounts for CB1100 owners.

I have actually been looking into feasible options to start a motorcycle related business since before the pandemic, but COVID put everything on hold and every idea had to be re-examined because nobody could say how this thing was going to work out and whether we will have an economy in future, but things are looking up, and money is not too expensive these days, and having a monopoly on a reputable brand in a country is usually good for business, that's how it's done here, we don't get multiple dealers for the same brand. Yes, it is probably auch bigger investment than I alone can afford, but I know some people with money, I'll get the numbers from the distributor, put down a business plan and have a few conversations, I'm positive there will be a decent ROI. Even if nothing happens, got nothing to lose by trying

But still have to ask yourself, why did the last dealer fold? If you don't understand that, there's nothing to stop it from happening to you.

RE: New retro Kawi on the horizon? - bioman_imp - 09-28-2021

I am sure this bike is very nice to ride, given its power & weight. I expected to like it - but I don't. Several reasons. I don't like a under-belly exhaust. Perhaps I could live with it but those headers look strange and unattractive. Surely there must be a more elegant way to keep the oil filter accessible? The engine is hidden and uninteresting which for me is a deal-breaker. And lastly, I REALLY don't like that in-your-face radiator. Why is Triumph the only manufacturer who can design radiators that are stylish & out-of-the-way?

(The golden wheels on the green bike are a bit much to me, but I do like the black-and-gold option of the grey version)
