I waited so long for a CB1100 as none were available for sale around here, until I found one in the dead of winter within a reasonable driving distance. The thought of giving it up (at some point) for...perhaps a scooter...gives me pause. hey...the super cub is not a scooter!~ it's an underbone motorcycle!

Built a new home recently with the biggest downsize being a two car garage....requiring me to use a Harbor Freight dolly to move the CB into position. Almost fell over once while pulling into a parking space and planting my right foot off balance. I'm with you, man. At 67 years old myself, I'm experiencing some difficulty at times riding a large (heavy) bike like the CB 1100 (but I love it!). Also have an 800 plus pound Indian Chief which is just mammoth. Luckily, still able to (carefully) move them, and actually once I'm on the road, I have complete confidence. Having said that, a smaller bike (love the Royal Enfields) is in my future. RE: Is This My Future? - Charlie Bravo_imp - 05-20-2023 When I can no longer handle the two-wheeled variety, I would seriously think about a reverse trike. I like the look of the H-D Penster, https://thekneeslider.com/harley-davidson-penster-tilting-reverse-trike/ And, now that I live in Texas, where filtering or lane splitting is verboten, I am OK with a trike. RE: Is This My Future? - redbirds_imp - 05-20-2023 I hit my 75th year last month. Two years ago I sold my CB because it was getting to be too much to move around in the garage and riding out on the dirt road my house fronts on was getting dicey. Being a man of "average" height like ferret, bought the NC750X but even that bike sometimes seems too big. I will go smaller and lighter if it means I may keep riding. |
